Screening reads the words in texts sent and received in Messages, which is your child's texting app. It does not read WhatsApp, Snapchat, Instagram, Discord or any other messaging app, and we would rather say so plainly than let you find out later.
That sounds like a gap, and on most phones it would be. Here it is covered from the other side: a new app your child installs stays closed until you approve it. If you would rather they didn't have Snapchat, you don't approve Snapchat, and the question of screening it never arises.
It also means the decision is yours and it is visible. You are not relying on a promise that some other company's app has been read correctly. You are deciding which apps exist on the phone at all.
Photos themselves are not checked. Their captions are, because a caption is text in a message.

Paired Parent is for a parent or legal guardian supervising a phone they provide to their own child. Every feature described here is enforced by the software on the child's phone; where a feature has limits, the page says so.
This site keeps a visitor log: the internet address the visit came from, the page asked for, and the time. Nothing on this site tracks you across other sites. What else we keep, and why, is on the Privacy page. The photographs on this site are illustrations, not photographs of real families.
