Yes. Turning the phone off and switching on airplane mode both work normally, and Paired Parent does not block either.
We could have blocked them. We didn't, because a phone a child cannot turn off is a phone that goes in a drawer, and because the failure mode is worse than the problem: a child who genuinely needs to switch a phone off, in a cinema or a hospital or a classroom, should be able to.
What happens instead is that nothing is lost. Changes you make and alerts from the phone wait until it is back, and then arrive. If the phone hasn't been heard from for twenty minutes, the top line of your app turns red and you get one notification, so a phone that has been off all afternoon is something you find out about rather than something you have to check for.
That is the honest position: a child can make the phone go quiet for a while, and you will know that they did.

Paired Parent is for a parent or legal guardian supervising a phone they provide to their own child. Every feature described here is enforced by the software on the child's phone; where a feature has limits, the page says so.
This site keeps a visitor log: the internet address the visit came from, the page asked for, and the time. Nothing on this site tracks you across other sites. What else we keep, and why, is on the Privacy page. The photographs on this site are illustrations, not photographs of real families.
